ModuleNotFoundError: No module named ‘binwalk.core’

Do you get the following error in binwalk:

That is because the binwalk 2.1.0 from "pip install binwalk".

The solution is to download binwalk 2.3.4 from https://github.com/ReFirmLabs/binwalk/releases and build the binwalk via:

"python setup.py build" and "python setup.py install".
